The venue
The sixth International Workshop on the CCN Family of Genes will be held from 20th-24th October 2010 at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle, Northern Ireland. The hotel sits in six acres of private grounds at the foot of the Mourne Mountains in the beautiful County Down countryside. A short walk through the grounds to the rear of the hotel leads you to one of the world’s top golf courses, Royal County Down, whilst to the front of the hotel you can get direct access to the beach.
This year, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the International CCN Society.
For this occasion and in addition to the newly introduced
SPRINGER-ICCNS AWARD given to a renowned scientist in recognition of his/her scientific achievements
YOUNG INVESTIGATORS SPRINGER SCHOLARSHIPS given for three outstanding presentations selected by the ICCNS scientific committee.
The 2010 workshop will feature :
- a Keynote presentation on ANGIOGENESIS by Dr. Richard Kendall
- two educational sessions devoted to HORMESIS and INFLAMMATION
The Proceedings of this meeting will be published by Springer.
SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS
The scientific sessions will take place in THE GRAND BALLROOM of the hotel Breakfast and lunch will be served in the Oak Restaurant.
All coffee breaks will be served in THE GRAND BALLROOM FOYER
All meals except one on the free evening, are included in the registration package.

The organising committee strongly recommends to proceed for hotel reservations only after full confirmation of registration.
In the event of an application not being accepted by the organising committee, refund will be made shortly.

Belfast International has trans-Atlantic connections to both the USA and Canada and also has connections to Europe with many of the budget airlines.

Both airports are a short taxi ride from Belfast city centre and are served by frequent airport bus services to Great Victoria Street bus and train station.
Newcastle can be reached by an Express bus service from Great Victoria street which stops directly outside the hotel.
A Conference bus will also be provided directly from Great Victoria Street bus station to the conference hotel on Wednesday 20th and return journey on Sunday 24th – times and details will be notified at a later date.
Newcastle is close to the border with Southern Ireland and approximately one hour drive from Dublin airport. Dublin has excellent connections with both Europe and the USA and has first class car hire facilities.
There is a frequent airport bus service to Newry from which Newcastle can be reached by bus or taxi (SHIMNA TAXIS TEL +44(0)2843723030; cost approx £30).
