As president-elect of the ICCNS scientific board, I would like to announce to all ICCNS

members the establishment of the 3 types of awards described below. These awards

have been founded to promote development of our society and the Journal of Cell

Communication and Signaling (JCCS).

1) ICCNS Award

This award is given to members of the ICCNS who have contributed substantially to the

ICCNS both scientifically and administratively.

Requirements (or conditions):

1. Active member of ICCNS for a minimum of 10 continuous years

2. At least 5 publications in JCCS + CCS

3. At least 5 presentations at International CCN workshops 
 

Selection: A Scientific Board member(s) recommends the candidates(s) to the President

of the Executive Board or President-elect of the Scientific Board in a letter confirming that

the candidate fulfills the above conditions. This letter is to be sent by December 31st of

the year just prior to the year of each biennial workshop. The President and

President-elect will discuss the candidates, and then consult with Scientific Board

members to determine the recipient(s) by January 31st in the year of each biennial

workshop.

One or two recipient(s) /biennial workshop are to be selected. 
 

2) ICCNS Scientific Award

This award is given to senior investigators who are active members of the ICCNS and

who have made consistent scientific achievements of high merit in CCN protein research.

Requirements (or conditions):

1. Active member of ICCNS for at least 5 continuous years

2. Minimum of 3 publications in JCCS + CCS

3. Minimum of 3 presentations at International CCN workshops

4. A recommendation letter from a Scientific Board Member or Scientific Board Advisor.

5. The awardee is required to give a lecture in recognition of his or her award at the

next International CCN Workshop. 
 

Selection: Candidates apply by submitting (1) a complete CV ; (2) complete list of

publications ; (3) list of presentations made at past International CCN Workshops; (4)

PDF file of 5 representative publications; and (5) a letter requesting consideration for the

award addressed to the President–elect of the Scientific Board by December 31st of the

year before the year of each biennial workshop. Members of the Scientific Board will

evaluate the candidates, ranking them 1-5, and a report containing their

recommendations will be presented to the President–elect of the Scientific Board by

January 31st in the year of each biennial workshop.

Two recipients/biennial workshop are to be selected. 
 

3) ICCNS Research Promotion Award

This award is given to junior investigators who are members of the ICCNS and who have

made consistent scientific achievements of high merit in CCN protein research.

Requirements (or conditions):

1. Active member of ICCNS for at least 3 continuous years

2. Minimum of 1 publication in JCCS + CCS

3. Minimum of 1 presentation at a International CCN workshop

4. A recommendation letter from a Scientific Board Member or Scientific Board Advisor.

5. The awardee is required to give a lecture in recognition of his or her award at the

next International CCN Workshop. 
 

Selection: Candidates apply by submitting (1) a complete CV; (2) complete list of

publications; (3) list of presentations made at International CCN Workshops; (4) PDF file

of 5 representative publications; and (5) a letter requesting consideration for the award

addressed to the President–elect of the Scientific Board by December 31st of the year

prior to the year of each biennial workshop. Members of the Scientific Board will evaluate

the candidates, ranking them 1-5, and send a report with their recommendations to the

President–elect of the Scientific Board by January 31st of the year of each biennial

workshop.

Two recipients/biennial workshop are to be selected.

A ceremony conferring these honors on the awardees will take place at each biennial

ICCN workshop.

A commemorative plaque will be given to each awardee at this ceremony.

I hope that there will be many candidates/applicants for these awards.
